This has included using the funding to double the Physical Education (PE) and Sport Premium to £320 million to improve the quality of PE in primary schools. The Department will continue to provide £320 million in academic year 2019-20. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/10/2019 answer text <p>Careers education is steadily improving across the country following publication of our careers strategy in December 2017.</p><p>We publish statutory guidance for schools and colleges, which sets out what they should do to provide independent careers guidance for year 8-13 students. This includes the requirement, commonly known as the Baker Clause, for schools to publish a policy statement, showing the opportunities for technical education and apprenticeship providers to talk to all year 8-13 pupils.</p><p>When we have found instances of non-compliance with these statutory duties, we have taken action. In January 2019, the former Minister for Apprenticeships and Skills (Anne Milton), my right hon. Friend for Guilford, wrote to 5 of the largest multi-academy trusts that had not yet published arrangements for provider access on all their academy websites to ask them to act to comply with the law. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/10/2019 answer text <p>The Department takes the health and safety of staff and pupils very seriously.</p><p>The Department launched the Asbestos Management Assurance Process (AMAP) in March 2018 to enhance its understanding of the management of asbestos in schools. The AMAP was a voluntary data collection, but all state funded schools in England were expected to participate. On 16 July 2019, the Department published a report of findings from the process, alongside a list of schools and their responsible bodies that participated.</p><p>The AMAP remains open so that schools and responsible bodies can continue to participate or update their information. Government funding is intended to deliver 570 or 1140 hours a year, over no fewer than 38 weeks of the year of free, high quality, flexible childcare for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds. This equates to 15 or 30 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year to mirror school terms.</p><p>All the free entitlements can be “stretched” by taking fewer hours per week over up to 52 weeks of the year to cover term-time and the school holidays and free places can also be delivered at weekends (for example, 23 hours a week for 48 weeks of the year). 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/10/2019 answer text <p>Local Government plays a vital role in preparing the country to be fully ready for the UK to exit the EU on 31 October 2019.</p><p>The Department has stepped up their preparedness significantly and speaks regularly to councils and partners, including through the Local Government Brexit Delivery Board and a network of nine regional chief executives. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government leads this engagement.</p><p>Every council has designated a Brexit Lead Officer to work with central Government to intensify their local preparations and, in total, the Department has made £77 million available to help local areas get ready for the UK to exit the EU.</p><p>Whilst the Department has not had any meetings with St Helens Council regarding preparations for the UK exiting the EU, the Department has issued advice to local authorities’ children’s services on how to prepare for the UK to exit the EU. This was a considerable increase on the £2 million funding for provision in 2018. These 11 coordinators were responsible for funding and overseeing free holiday clubs, so that disadvantaged children in the chosen areas benefitted from high quality provision during the summer holiday.</p><p>We continue to build our understanding of how free provision can be coordinated, providing valuable information about what works in supporting this sector.
