The music industry is one of the UK's greatest success stories, producing an extraordinary level of talent recognised and respected the world over. The UK's decision to leave the EU will not change that. Neither will it diminish our outstanding creativity.</p><p> </p><p>My department has held a series of roundtables with the creative sector on the impacts and opportunities affecting the creative industries as a result of the UK’s exit from the EU, including representatives from the music industry regarding touring musicians and crews and we continue to work closely with the sector at official level.</p><p> </p><p>We understand that outward mobility of creative talent is key to the success of the creative industries, especially for sub-sectors like music where touring is the life-blood of the industry, and we recognise the importance of temporary movement of goods and equipment for touring musicians.</p><p> </p><p>The phased introduction of the Facilitated Customs Arrangement (FCA) we have proposed in the White Paper on The Future Relationship between the United Kingdom and European Union would remove the need for customs checks and controls between the UK and the EU, as if they were a combined customs territory.</p><p> </p><p>The UK has made significant progress in the separation negotiations, including on intellectual property. In particular, we have agreed that any EU trade mark or Community design that is registered or published before the end of the implementation period will continue to be protected in the UK by a comparable right.</p><p> </p><p>The UK-level right will be granted automatically and without any charges or re-examination. Questions about that investigation should be directed to the Information Commissioner's Office.</p><p> </p><p>The government's Data Protection Bill will strengthen data protection law and give the Information Commissioner tougher powers to ensure organisations comply. Digital is a fast evolving, innovative, sector that is driving economic transformation across the world. Digital sectors contributed £116.5 billion to the UK economy in 2016, representing 6.7% of GVA. These will advance the UK's leadership in cyber security and help make the UK the safest place to live and do business online. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/07/2018 answer text <p>As part of the 2016-2021 National Cyber Security Strategy the Government created the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to be the authority on the UK’s cyber security environment, sharing knowledge, addressing systemic vulnerabilities and providing leadership on key national cyber security issues.</p><p> </p><p>In October 2017, the NCSC published a Small Business Guide which is freely available on its website. Following this guidance will significantly increase the protection of small businesses against the most common forms of cybercrime. The guide cannot guarantee protection from all types of cyber attack, but it sets out easy, low-cost steps that can be to protect an organisation’s data, assets and reputation. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/05/2018 answer text <p>The Government and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) recognise the challenges facing small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) across the UK economy in their preparations for the Data Protection Bill and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The ICO is leading on providing guidance and support to UK organisations and have already published a number of resources on the Commissioner's website (ico.org.uk) to help all organisations prepare. The ICO has: launched a dedicated helpline service for smaller organisations; updated its 'SMEs toolkit' to reflect the requirements of the GDPR; simplified its &quot;12-step&quot; GDPR preparation guidance; and published FAQs for SMEs. To support the ICO the Government delivered an awareness-raising marketing campaign targeted at those organisations and sectors, including SMEs, most in need of support. Doing so will not require legislation.
