unstar this property answer text <p>a) Between 2017-2018, Sport England invested £844,869 into 20 projects, including the refurbishment and development of skateparks and related facilities. Full details of these investments can be found on Sport England’s website.</p><p>(b) (i) UK Sport has allocated up to £166,825 from the innovative Aspiration Fund to support the sport’s route to the Tokyo Olympics. The skateboarding investment award made through the Aspiration Fund has been allocated to the sport pending identification of the best funding delivery model. This award is dependent upon the sport satisfying UK Sport’s conditions of award.</p><p>(b) (ii) The £3 million Aspiration Fund announced by DCMS in October 2018 allows sports who do not currently receive full UK Sport funding to develop plans to help teams and athletes qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Alongside skateboarding’s proposed qualification plan for Tokyo 2020, the sport must demonstrate how they will capitalise on the impact of competing at the 2020 Games and engage and inspire communities.</p>

unstar this property answer text <p>Working in conjunction, DCMS, the Charity Commission, and UK Community Foundations have so far released £9.5 million through the Revitalising Trusts programme. This funding will support local good causes across the country.</p><p> </p><p>The programme is on track and we expect to release £10 million by the end of March 2019.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>When the conclusions of the Government’s Gambling Review were announced in May 2018, the Government said it would consider whether 16 remained an appropriate age limit to play all National Lottery products, including scratchcards, as part of work on the next licence competition. The evidence in this area is currently being reviewed and analysed, including the number of young people who play National Lottery games and whether participation leads to problem gambling behaviours in later life.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>We want all young people to be healthy and active. That is why Sport England is investing over £194 million (between 2016-21) into projects focusing on improving children’s engagement in and enjoyment of physical activity. This includes £40m for projects which support families with children to get active together, and continued investment into satellite clubs.</p><p> </p><p>We are also working with the Departments for Education and Health and Social Care on a new cross-government action plan, to get kids active in and out of school, which will be published in spring.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>We want all schools to maximise the use of their facilities – for the mutual benefit of schools and their communities. This is an ambition set out in the Government's Sporting Future strategy and the Department for Education’s Governance Handbook for schools.</p><p> </p><p>Sport England’s 'Use Our School' resource has been designed to support schools to open up their facilities for community use and to help those that are already open to stay open.</p><p> </p><p>The new cross-departmental School Sport and Physical Activity Action Plan, which will be published in the spring, will also consider how school facilities can best be used to encourage all children to play more sports, including football, and to be more active.</p> more like this

This set out a raft of cross-government measures to take the first steps in tackling loneliness and takes forward recommendations from the Jo Cox Commission.</p><p> </p><p>DCMS specifically is providing up to £1.8million to increase the number of community spaces available. This follows the announcement this summer of more than £20million of new funding for projects that bring people and communities together.</p><p> </p><p>With the Office of National Statistics, the department has developed the ‘loneliness measure’ (to enable consistent analysis and build the evidence base), and will be piloting better use of open data around facilities and accessibility with local government. The department is launching an awareness campaign and including loneliness in internet safety.</p> more like this
