	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/07/2018 answer text <p>VisitBritain research shows that in 2016, over one million of the UK’s inbound visitors come here with attending a festival in mind, spending nearly £1.2bn during their visit.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, the Arts Council has carried out research into the benefits of local events on the community and economy. For example, the SO Festival in East Lindsey is estimated to have increased footfall from 30,000 to 83,000. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/07/2018 answer text <p>The Government believes that all art forms should be accessible to as many people as possible regardless of their background.</p><p>Both the Royal Opera House (ROH) and the ROH Bridge Delivery Organisation, who receive Arts Council England (ACE) grants for 2018 - 22, have funding conditions linked to increasing participation in the arts through outreach work with schools and local communities. . <strong>T</strong>he ROH’s excellent ‘Welcome Performance’ initiative aims to further increase family participation in the opera. Further details on the scheme can be found here: <a href="http://www.roh.org.uk/welcome-performances" target="_blank">http://www.roh.org.uk/welcome-performances</a>.</p><p>The ROH also works with BP to produce Big Screen live relays of opera and ballet direct from Covent Garden to sites across the country. We also created the Events Industry Board, which brings together key stakeholders to discuss opportunities and concerns from the sector, and act as a sounding board between the industry and ministers.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>VisitBritain(VB) provides support with two funding streams for the Business Events Growth Programme and increasing awareness and consideration of the UK as a business event destination. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/07/2018 answer text <p>DCMS works hard to support the UK’s coastal destinations, engaging closely with the National Coastal Tourism Academy (NCTA) to stay abreast of current trends, opportunities and concerns.</p><p> </p><p>Together with VisitEngland, the £40m Discover England Fund project supports several coastal products, developed to target international visitors but also benefit domestic tourism. Projects such as England’s Coast led by the NCTA, South West Coastal Path led by the South West Coast Path Association and England’s Seafood Coast, led by the English Tourism Riviera Company are some examples of DEF projects in coastal regions.</p><p> </p><p>VisitBritain (VB) run coastal destinations groups which generally meet four times a year, discussing the challenges facing coastal destinations with the aim of sharing insights and best practice, developing joint policy positions to address those deemed most important.</p><p><ins class="ministerial">VB sit on the Coastal Tourism Leadership Forum(run by the NCTA), helping to shape the Coastal Visitor Economy Vision and Action Plan. As part of their remit, they manage the £40m Discover England Fund which supports the development of bookable tourism products across England, including the Make Great Memories in England’s National Parks and the Telling the Stories of England projects.</p><p> </p><p>There are several promotional campaigns which VisitBritain and VisitEngland manage, including the international I Travel For, and the domestic Join the World campaign. Historic England assesses such requests before providing its recommendations to the Secretary of State. We understand that Historic England has received such a request in relation to the former covered market in Woolwich, and that it hopes to submit its recommendation shortly. Once this has been received, the building’s claims to special architectural or historic interest will be considered in line with the Secretary of State’s Principles of Selection for Listed Buildings.
