Its jurisdiction also extends to online operators who supply gambling to customers outside Great Britain, if the equipment with which they do so is located in this country, and gross gambling yield from these activities is recorded as non-GB GGY. That category also includes GGY which any GC-licensed operator has derived from supplying gambling to customers in other jurisdictions which either allow it to operate there by virtue of its GB licence, or do not have specific legal requirements relating to online gambling. BDUK’s Superfast programme will provide at least 24 Megabits per second (Mbps) coverage to 95% of the UK by the end of this year. According to the latest data, published on <a href="http://thinkbroadband.com/" target="_blank">thinkbroadband.com</a>, UK coverage at 30Mbps is 92.6%.</p><p> </p><p>The European Commission, in their 2017 report &quot;Europe's Digital Progress&quot;, state that the EU average for 30Mbps coverage is just 76%.</p><p> </p><p>In terms of 100Mbps coverage, thinkbroadband report that for the UK this currently stands at 52.8%. We are keen to ensure even better digital connectivity in the UK, and we announced a package of measures worth £1.1 billion at Autumn Statement 2016 to support this:</p><ul><li>The Digital Infrastructure Investment Fund, which was launched on 3 July and will provide finance for new fibre investments.</li><li>The Local Full Fibre Networks programme, which will support local bodies in stimulating the market for fibre connectivity in their areas.</li><li>A Bill to enable business rates relief for new fibre build.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Together, these investments and incentives will stimulate the market to deliver the increase in capacity that is needed.</p><p> </p><p>Homes and businesses across the UK could - if they chose - upgrade to at least superfast speeds. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/10/2019 answer text <p>The inclusion or exclusion of the 101 number from mobile phone plans is a decision made by individual telecom providers. Mobile phone customers can adjust their mobile phone settings, so they can ‘opt in’ to chargeable calls and use the 101 number. It is for telecom providers to provide this information to their customers in their plans.</p><p> </p><p>The Home Office is removing charges for the 101 police non-emergency number, making the number free of charge for all members of the public from April 2020. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/04/2019 answer text <p>There is no obligation on telecom service providers to supply the 101 service free of charge as is the case with 999/112 under the 2003 Communications Act. Calls to 101 cost 15p from a mobile device or landline phones, from anywhere in the country and regardless of duration. Calls are free from payphones. The public have always paid to contact the police by telephone for non-emergencies and the 15p cost of the call goes to the telephony providers to cover the cost of carrying the calls. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/12/2017 answer text <p>On 14 December, Disney and the 21st Century Fox announced details of an agreement for the sale of 21st Century Fox to Disney. This includes its interests in two major UK Media companies Sky PLC and Endemol/Shine. 21st Century Fox currently remains as the bidder for Sky PLC and Disney and 21st Century Fox confirmed in their joint announcement that they want the 21st Century Fox bid for Sky - announced in December 2016 – to continue. The current Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) inquiry into the Fox/Sky merger will therefore continue.</p><p>The CMA are of course fully aware of the Disney bid and it is for them to consider how to account for this development in their inquiry. The CMA are due to publish their interim findings on the merger in mid-January and provide their final report by 6 March. The Government welcomes 3G networks being switched off in a responsible way and will continue to work with Ofcom and mobile network operators to ensure a smooth transition that meets the needs of business users and consumers, including rural communities.</p><p>We are committed to extending good quality mobile coverage across the UK. In March 2020, the government announced a deal with the mobile network operators to increase 4G coverage to 95% of the UK landmass. And the majority of the population can now access basic 5G. In March 2020, the government announced a deal with the mobile network operators, including Vodafone, to increase 4G coverage to 95% of the UK landmass. The Government’s ambition is for the majority of the population to have access to a 5G signal by 2027 and we want to ensure that UK businesses reap the full benefits of 5G.</p><p>There is no explicit regulatory requirement for mobile network operators to maintain a 2G or 3G network and the government has limited powers to compel operators to maintain, switch off or streamline specific networks.
