	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/12/2018 answer text <p>Where gambling facilities are offered, operators must have a licence from the Gambling Commission and have controls in place to prevent underage gambling.</p><p> </p><p>Loot boxes do not fall under gambling law where the in-game items acquired are confined for use within the game and cannot be cashed out. However, the Government is aware of concerns that loot boxes and other entertainment products, such as some video games, could encourage gambling-like behaviour and longer term lead to gambling related harm, and will continue to look closely at any evidence around this issue. We welcome the recent introduction by the VSC Ratings Board and PEGI of a new label for video games to warn parents where they include the opportunity to make in-game purchases.</p><p> </p><p>In September 2018, the Gambling Commission, along with 16 other regulators from Europe and the USA signed a declaration which outlined common concerns around gaming and gambling. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/06/2018 answer text <p>The Government expects charities to take robust action against any bullying and harassment relating to employees or volunteers.</p><p>Charity employees have some protection in law under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 from detrimental treatment or victimisation from their employer if, in the public interest, they report concerns about serious wrongdoing at their charity to the Charity Commission, provided that the concerns they report meet the conditions in the Act for a ’protected disclosure’. There are other mechanisms for volunteers to report such concerns to the Charity Commission, although they are not covered by the Act.</p><p>Government, regulators and the charity sector are working together to reaffirm the importance of safeguarding as a governance priority for charities, and to agree and commit to actions jointly and individually to strengthen the safeguarding capability and capacity of charities working across the UK. The Charity Commission has already announced a suite of measures to help ensure charities learn the wider lessons from recent safeguarding cases revelations involving Oxfam and other charities, and to strengthen protection from harm for charity beneficiaries, employees and volunteers. We are currently analysing advice from the Gambling Commission which was published on 19 March, along with over 7,000 responses to the consultation. The responses cover all aspects of the review including, stakes and prizes for all gaming machines (including B2 machines), gambling advertising, online gambling and research, education and treatment (RET). All submissions are being carefully considered and a response to the consultation will be published in due course.</p><p> </p><p>We take problem gambling very seriously and protecting vulnerable people is a key aim for the Government and the Gambling Commission. Details of a range of support available to people with gambling problems can be found on the NHS Choices website.</p><p> </p><p>Since the consultation closed Ministers have met a wide range of stakeholders, including those who have experienced problems with gambling, those delivering support services as well as representatives of the betting industry. Details of Ministerial meetings are published quarterly on gov.uk.
