For example, Active Change Foundation Ltd, one of the organisations being funded through the Youth Investment Fund, is working with young leaders to give them the skills they need to lead change in their communities. Stopping extremist recruitment is one of the areas of focus for this project.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Local authorities are responsible for allocating funding to youth services in line with local need. Section 251 data gathered by the Department for Education shows that between 2012/13 and 2015/16 total local authority spending on youth services has reduced by 36%.</p><p> </p><p>Local authority spending is only one part of the picture: many local authorities are creating new partnerships and models to respond to the changing funding landscape. Government has supported local authorities to adapt through the £700,000 Delivering Differently for Young People programme and is investing £80 million through the Youth Investment and #iwill Funds to increase opportunities for young people to develop skills and participate in their communities.</p><p> </p> more like this

The Office for Civil Society (OCS) has spent over £475m on youth programmes and supporting youth service delivery between 2014/15 and 2016/17 - the first full financial year that youth policy sat in OCS to the last completed financial year.</p><p> </p> more like this

This money is being matched by the Big Lottery Fund to create an £80million investment in young people. As this is a devolved policy area the UK Government only has the legal authority to fund projects that benefit England.</p> more like this
