star this property answer text <p>The Government provided £100.8m from Phase 1 of the Superfast Broadband Programme to support superfast broadband coverage in Scotland. This has been delivered through the Highlands &amp; Islands broadband project and the Digital Scotland project which covers the Rest of Scotland. The Government provided £20.99m additional funding in February 2014 to support a Phase 2 project in Scotland to provide further superfast broadband coverage. The Scottish Government has not yet begun the procurement process using this funding and is not expecting to have agreed a contract until December 2018. We are doing all we can to speed this up.</p><p> </p><p>For all premises which do not have superfast broadband coverage, the UK Government will ensure universal broadband of at least 10Mbps.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>I was appointed as Minister for Sport and Civil Society in July. The Civil Society portfolio includes responsibility for Youth Policy, the National Citizen Service and the UK Youth Parliament. There was no change in the number of civil servants in the department as a result of that appointment.</p><p> </p><p>DCMS conducted a series of regional workshops in March and April to discuss current issues for youth policy with representatives from the youth sector, local authorities and young people. The evidence gathered is being used by the Office for Civil Society across their youth policy work.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>With regard to those based in Great Britain, the Association of British Bookmakers has estimated that over 90% of all Licenced Betting Offices in Britain contribute to the voluntary levy.</p><p> </p><p>Earlier this year I wrote to trade bodies representing the betting industry to ask that they take part in discussions to improve the current funding position in the greyhound industry, to be chaired by Lord Lipsey.</p><p> </p><p>Lord Lipsey’s work is ongoing and Ladbrokes Coral have followed Bet 365 and recently announced that they will begin making voluntary contributions to the greyhound racing industry based on their offshore business from the start of 2018. This is a welcome boost to the sport which will strengthen the industry's ability to meet and exceed their commitments in relation to welfare and integrity and I would urge all betting operators who do not currently contribute to the voluntary levy to reconsider their position.</p> more like this

The Government’s recent paper: The exchange and protection of personal data - a future partnership paper, and others provide a basis for further discussion, including with the devolved administrations, on the future partnership the UK wants to build with the EU.
