Friend the Secretary of State for Defence announced on 11 February 2019, we will use the Transformation Fund to develop a concept for a Littoral Strike Ship. Estimates of the potential acquisition costs of this capability will be established during the initial concept phase.</p><p>At this time, no decisions have been made regarding procurement strategy, in service dates, basing or manning levels.</p> more like this

The committee considers all names which have been proposed, formally and informally, and presents its recommendations to the Navy Board. The name(s) chosen by the Navy Board are forwarded to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence before being submitted to Her Majesty the Queen for final approval. <br><br>A final decision with regards to this process is not expected until the Type 26 Global Combat Ship programme has completed its assessment phase and any subsequent investment decisions are complete. The SNBC has noted the proposal to use the name HMS PLYMOUTH.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The plan to procure a first batch of five new Type 31e Frigates has not been postponed; we want the first ship to enter service by the end of 2023. All five ships are planned to be delivered by the end of 2028.</p><p>Although work continues on the forward deployment of a Type 23 Frigate to the Gulf, we do not discuss the future operations of our ships. These considerations will be unaffected by the Type 31e procurement process.</p> more like this
