star this property answer text <p>We have decided to change both the Armed Forces Pension Scheme 75 (AFPS75) and the War Pension Scheme (WPS). The changes we have made will ensure that from 1 April 2015, widows, widowers and surviving civil partners of all members of the Armed Forces Pension Scheme will now retain their pensions for life, fulfilling the Government's ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant.</p><p>From 1 April 2015 the spouse or civil partner of all members of AFPS75 and any WPS widows will retain their pension for life if they have not already surrendered it due to remarriage or cohabitation.</p><p>For those who have already surrendered their pension due to remarriage or cohabitation, should that relationship end they can apply to have their pension restored for life.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence (MOD) provides accommodation to Service personnel and their families as part of their terms and conditions of Service. Individuals cease to be entitled to occupy Service Accommodation when they leave the Services. If necessary, the MOD take action to recover possession of such property. <br><br>The level of notice to be given in each case is set out in the Tri-Service Accommodation Regulations, published as Joint Service Publication 464. In most cases, individuals are entitled to 93 days notice to vacate. However, in some circumstances, including medical discharges and compulsory redundancies, this entitlement can be extended by a further 93 days. The shortest entitlement for personnel dismissed for disciplinary or misconduct reasons is 28 days.<br><br>In the last twelve months, the MOD has applied for eviction orders in 20 cases. All eviction notices were served when unentitled occupants were still resident in the property.</p> more like this

The Brigade of Gurkhas will be holding many events this year, including a parade and memorial service in Whitehall in April. star this property answer text <p>Mental healthcare and support is provided for all serving Armed Forces personnel, both regulars and reserve, and resources are not specifically designated for a particular operation. Because of the many ways in which mental healthcare is provided and funded, it is not possible to provide a cost figure that covers all the numerous care streams, which may include treatment by GPs in primary care facilities, out-patient treatment in military Departments of Community Mental Health, and in-patient care in specialist NHS units. <br><br>Responsibility for the delivery of healthcare to ex-Service personnel rests with the NHS and Devolved Administrations. As part of the Government's 2011 mental health strategy, No Health Without Mental Health, over £7million in additional funding has been made available over four years to help ensure that ex-Service personnel with mental health problems also get the very best care.</p> more like this
