The campaign ran from December 2014 to March 2015 and did not differentiate between fibre optic and satellite. A total cost of £8 million has been set aside for this campaign to include the media buying costs (e.g. the airtime for TV/press adverts) as well as production costs for adverts (TV/radio/digital/out of home), social media activity and a toolkit of materials for local authorities.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>In addition, as part of the Government’s Business is GREAT campaign we have spent £1.667<strong> </strong>million<strong> </strong>on advertising aimed at small businesses to encourage them to take up a grant for superfast broadband connection for their businesses with a supplier of their choice. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/09/2023 answer text <p>The government recognises the vital role that youth services and the voluntary and community sector has in reducing youth offending and the Beating Crime Plan 2021 highlighted the importance of early intervention for all young people; targeted support for those at risk of involvement in criminality; and targeted interventions for those who have started to offend.</p><p>The Youth Justice Sport Fund (YJSF) is a recently completed early intervention grant programme led by the Ministry of Justice, delivered across England and Wales between November 2022 and March 2023. This forms part of the £300m package of early intervention funding that was announced in May 2022. The £5m programme supported 220 voluntary and community sector organisations to work with 10–17-year-olds considered vulnerable to involvement in crime and anti-social behaviour, using sport as a vehicle to address problem behaviour.</p><p>The government has committed to a National Youth Guarantee: that by 2025, every young person will have access to regular clubs and activities, adventures away from home and opportunities to volunteer. This is supported by a three-year investment of over £500 million in youth services. The Youth Investment Fund, an integral part of the National Youth Guarantee, will invest over £300 million in creating and refurbishing up to 300 youth facilities in levelling up priority areas - the majority of which contain at least one anti-social behaviour hotspot. Additionally, through the Million Hours Fund, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport will provide over a million hours of youth opportunities in areas with high levels of anti-social behaviour. The changes support the roll out of fixed line high-speed broadband in protected areas*, and high-speed mobile broadband (4G) in protected and unprotected areas by removing the need to seek planning permission for specified developments. Ofcom is conducting further research and holding discussions with industry and consumer organisations. It will publish a document setting out its findings in the first half of 2015.</p><p>We set out our thinking on GPL switching in the Connectivity, Content and Consumers [CCC} Strategy Paper, published in July 2013. In December 2013 Ofcom announced that GPL switching would be mandated for broadband and fixed telephony over the Openreach network. Full implementation of this will be completed by June 2015. However the Regulator has stated that they will undertake a review of the consumer experience of switching to identify the most appropriate powers to use, to address consumer protection and competition issues. Section 45 of the Act gives Ofcom the power to set general conditions on service providers. Section 51 specifies that one of the reasons for imposing such conditions is to protect the interests of consumers of electronic communications services. Arts and cultural bodies receive funding through a wide variety of sources, including through Arts Council England, an arm’s-length body of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.</p><p>The Welsh National Opera will receive £4 million of public funding through Arts Council England’s 2023–26 Investment Programme, and was also successful in its application to the Arts Council’s ‘Transform Programme’ through which it will receive an additional one-off payment of £3.25 million. This means the Welsh National Opera will receive over £15 million of public funding between 2023 and 2026.</p><p>The decisions about which organisations to fund, and by how much, is a decision taken wholly by Arts Council England independently of HM Government. This is in accordance with the well established process, which is published on the Arts Council’s website and made clear in the guidance for applicants. How the Welsh National Opera chooses to spend its grant funding with respect to staffing, touring, and community work are matters for the organisation itself.</p><p>Cultural organisations such as the Welsh National Opera are also benefiting from the two-year extension to the higher rates of theatre, orchestra, museums and galleries exhibition tax reliefs announced at the last Budget. This extension will continue to offset ongoing pressures and boost investment in our cultural sectors.
