Pay awards are informed by a range of factors including recruitment, retention, affordability and the scope for productivity gains.</p><p> </p><p>Departments set pay within the Civil Service pay remit guidance which is published on gov.uk annually. As agreed in this meeting, officials wrote to trade unions inviting further discussions on the process of publishing the 2019 Pay Remit Guidance on 17th July.
