answer text <p>The principle of collective agreement requires that ministers are able to express their views freely and frankly in private, and therefore any leaks from Cabinet or Cabinet Committees are taken very seriously, as are leaks of any Government information or material. If any breach is found it is dealt with under the Ministerial Code, Special Adviser Code, or Civil Service Code. It has been the policy of successive Governments not to comment on leaks other than in exceptional circumstances when it is in the public interest to do so.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The National Cyber Security Centre published guidance on email security in September 2017, including specific directions for public sector users at OFFICIAL.</p><p><a href="https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/guidance/email-security-and-anti-spoofing" target="_blank">https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/guidance/email-security-and-anti-spoofing</a></p><p>Government departments are to encrypt emails to a level appropriate to the content and classification of that communication.</p><p>The Cabinet Office cannot, however, speak for the security of emails sent by Hon. Members from non-government email systems, as this is dependent on which system and service an email is sent.</p> more like this

Those proposals are due to be discussed for the first time by the House of Lords on 19 December.
