Counting Officers are given an overall maximum recoverable amount to cover the costs of running the poll. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/04/2017 answer text <p>I will not comment on operational or intelligence matters, however I can assure you that the Government has seen no successful interference in our electoral process to date.</p><p>Our system of paper balloting and hand counting means UK voting mechanisms do not lend themselves to direct electronic manipulation. The Government remains committed to addressing the unfairness of current Parliamentary boundaries by making votes of more equal value. The Commission explains that the software provider has resolved the issue and none of the affected electors will be shown as eligible on the electoral registers to be used at polling stations on the 23 June.
