	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/12/2014 answer text <p>Article 32(1) of the Export Control Order 2008 (as amended) empowers my Rt. Hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills to vary or revoke export licences at any time. The 2008 Order does not specify the grounds on which a licence may be revoked. In practice the reasons include:</p><p> </p><p>(i) As a result of the imposition of EU or UN sanctions;</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>(ii) Where there has been a change in Government policy in respect of the export of certain goods, or the export of specified goods to a certain destination, and the proposed export is no longer consistent with the revised policy;</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>(iii) Where there has been a change in circumstances in the destination country or region such that the proposed export is no longer consistent with the Consolidated EU and National Arms Export Licensing Criteria or with other relevant, announced, policies;</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>(iv) Where new information has come to light about a particular export which indicates that the proposed export is no longer consistent with the Consolidated EU and National Arms Export Licensing Criteria or with other relevant, announced, policies;</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>(v) Where an exporter has failed to comply with the terms and conditions of the licence, or as a result of enforcement action by HMRC/UK Border Agency; and</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>(vi) For administrative reasons, such as a company ceasing to trade and therefore no longer being able to use the licence, or where the exporter requests an amendment to a licence and revoking and re-issuing it is simpler than making an amendment.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency West Suffolk answering member printed Matthew Hancock question first answered 04/12/2014 15:44:17 answering member 4070 label Biography information for Matt Hancock

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/12/2014 answer text <p>In November 2010, this Government published its policy statement “Securing the Post Office network in the digital age”, which made a clear commitment that this Government would end the programmes of closure of the previous administration, and instead invest in the Post Office to secure a network of at least 11,500 branches with a sustainable long-term future.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Since 2010, this Government has committed nearly £2 billion to maintain, modernise and protect the Post Office network, and this is clearly reflected in the network figures that show the size of the network is now stabilised. It is important to note that within a network of over 11,500 branches that is overwhelmingly operated by independent agents, there will be fluctuations in the number of open branches as subpostmasters leave the network for a number of reasons, such as retirement. Where a replacement is not immediately available, the Post Office works hard to restore access to services in the community.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Post Office makes details of the size of its network available to Parliament on a regular basis. These show that at on 31 March 2005, there were 14,609 post offices. The comparative figure at the end of the 2013-14 reporting year showed there were 11,697 branches. The Business Bank’s Start-Up Loan programme has already provided 15 loans, with a value of £88,800 to people starting a business in Gillingham and Rainham.
