We communicate regularly with intermediaries to ensure businesses obtain information quickly and efficiently. We will continue to engage across the business population to ensure their priorities are reflected and that businesses have the latest information on how to prepare themselves for Brexit, including through a targeted series of roadshows and events.</p><p>The Government also has a business readiness website designed to keep businesses and consumers informed about what no deal might mean for them, with information on a range of measures that may need to be taken in order to prepare. These notices are being regularly updated with the latest information, for example BEIS have published 18 sector specific guides with the top three to six priorities per sector on GOV.UK. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/04/2019 answer text <p>Through the National Living Wage (NLW) and National Minimum Wage (NMW), the Government ensures that the lowest paid in our society are fairly rewarded for their work. April 2019’s increase to the NLW will see nearly 1.8 million workers in the UK receive a 4.9% pay rise. A full-time worker on the NLW will now be more than £2,750 better off over the year compared to when it was first announced in 2015.</p><p> </p><p>The table below provides estimates for the number and proportion of jobs in the UK and the North West on the NLW and NMW in 2019. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/01/2019 answer text <p>As stated in the ‘Framework for the UK-EU partnership in Science, Research and Innovation’ and ‘The Future Relationship between the United Kingdom and the European Union’, the UK has outlined its ambition to continue to host and support European Research Infrastructures. Furthermore, there is a shared commitment between the UK and the EU to explore UK participation in European Research Infrastructure Consortia (ERICs) as stated in the Political Declaration on our future relationship.</p><p> </p><p>Any country in the world can be a member of an ERIC. However, to be a member, the UK would have to comply with certain membership requirements laid out in EU Council Regulation (EC) No 723/2009 (amended by Council Regulation EU No 1261/2013) – hereinafter referred to as the ‘ERIC Regulation’ - the framework under which these separate legal bodies are formed. As such, details of our continued participation are subject to negotiations with the European Commission.</p><p> </p><p>Should membership not be possible, BEIS and delegated responsible authorities, are working with each individual ERIC to explore the potential alternatives for continued UK participation.</p><p> </p><p>In order to host the statutory seat of an ERIC, a country must either be an EU Member State, or an associated country under the ERIC Regulation. If the UK leaves the EU without a deal in March 2019, we will no longer be able to host the statutory seat of the European Social Survey ERIC or the Integrated Structural Biology ERIC without further agreement of the European Commission. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/10/2018 answer text <p>Through our Industrial Strategy, we will make sure that we are using all the tools we have to support business growth in places such as the Liverpool City Region boosting productivity and ensuring an economy that works for everyone.</p><p> </p><p>We are helping small businesses grow through access to detailed advice and guidance on GOV.UK and the Business Support Helpline. We have already invested £12 million in the 38 Growth Hubs inthe Local Enterprise Partnership areas providing tailored advice to businesses across England. We are providing a further £24m to continue funding Growth Hubs for the next 2 years. The Liverpool City Region Growth Hub, which covers Wirral and the Wallasey constituency, has supported over 15, 632 businesses and helped 3,500 individuals to start a business.</p><p> </p><p>In February 2017, through the government-owned British Business Bank (BBB), we launched the £400 million Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund to give small businesses in the North access to finance to help them start-up and grow. 40 investments or loans have been made in the Liverpool City Region worth £8m with two investments made in the Wallasey constituency, totalling £350, 000.</p><p> </p><p>The Regional Growth Fund which was established to help create jobs and businesses grow has contracted £97.2m to businesses in the Liverpool City Region helping to create or safeguard 11,264 jobs. Of this £8.4m has been contracted to businesses in Wirral supporting 188 jobs.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, we have invested over £1.5 billion through the Local Growth Fund in North West projects to boost local economies. We will invest £332m in Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership area creating 15,400 jobs.
