	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/11/2018 answer text <p>Government takes firework safety very seriously and the Office for Product Safety and Standards is working with industry, retailers, charities and others, including RoSPA, to promote the safe, responsible, and considerate use of fireworks.</p><p> </p><p>There are already controls on noise levels for fireworks and it is an offence to supply fireworks exceeding 120 decibels to the public. The overall number of post offices across the UK remains at its most stable in decades with over 11,500 branches thanks to significant Government investment of over £2 billion since 2010.</p><p>I have been informed that Acton Post Office has closed as the site is being redeveloped and that unfortunately the Post Office has not been able to establish an alternative service so far. As this is an operational matter for the Post Office I have asked Paula Vennells, the Group Chief Executive of Post Office Limited, to write to you on this matter setting out what steps the Post Office is doing to restore the service as soon as possible. New systems have been introduced over the last 12 months to help ensure that inaccurate or fraudulent information is spotted. Their integrity team has also expanded and there are currently around 80 staff working on integrity issues.</p><p> </p><p>Following the evaluation of the UK’s anti-money laundering regime by the Financial Action Task Force, the Government will actively consider areas where the regulatory framework can be improved. The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has continued to monitor the shortage and Ministers and officials have been in regular contact with producers and suppliers throughout the process. We have been assured by producers of CO2 that production and supply levels are now returning to normal.</p><p> </p><p>Officials in the Department talked regularly to counterparts in departments whose sectors were affected by the recent carbon dioxide shortage, and cross-Whitehall discussions on the shortage were open to any affected department or agency and the Devolved Administrations. DEFRA officials were also in contact with the Devolved Administrations to update them on developments. As part of the Industrial Strategy we have an action plan to unlock over £20bn of investment in innovative and high potential businesses. As part of this, British Patient Capital – a wholly-owned commercial subsidiary of the British Business Bank – has been given resources of £2.5bn and will deliver a new programme designed to support UK businesses with high growth potential to access the long-term financing they need to scale up.</p><p> </p><p>We have also created a network of 38 Growth Hubs across England, and we are tackling late payments by appointing a Small Business Commissioner.</p><p> </p><p>Growth Hubs are a single point of contact providing SMEs with access to information and advice. The D2N2 Growth Hub - operating in the Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire area - has had 6,583 interactions with SMEs since its launch in December 2015.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>SMEs across the UK benefit from programmes operated by the Government-owned British Business Bank (BBB). BBB programmes are currently supporting £575.2m of finance for SMEs in the East Midlands Region, across 3,669 businesses. Also, as of 31 March through the BBB-owned Start-Up Loans programme, 779 loans have been made to individuals in Nottinghamshire, totalling £5.2m.</p><p> </p><p>The Business Support Helpline, Government’s free centralised business advice and support service, has received 432 contacts from the Nottinghamshire area since 2015.</p><p> </p><p>Since 2015/16 nearly 70 SMEs in the Nottinghamshire area have received Innovate UK funding in total and this includes some companies who are in receipt of multiple awards. A previous survey in 2007 collected data for children born in 2006. There were policy changes between these dates: in particular, up to 39 weeks’ Statutory Maternity Pay were available in 2008 compared to 26 weeks in 2006. Findings from these two surveys are summarised in the table below, showing the percentage of mothers who took 39 weeks of maternity leave or more, out of a sample of mothers who had worked at some point in the 12 months before birth.
