answer text <p>The Government is committed to supporting SMEs through exemption of new regulations where possible. This exemption was recently extended to businesses with up to 500 employees, potentially reducing red tape and bureaucracy for up to 40,000 more businesses.</p><p> </p><p>The British Business Bank is supporting over £12.2bn of finance to over 96,000 SMEs. Schemes include Start-Up Loans and the Recovery Loan Scheme.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has also acted to reverse the National Insurance rise, which will save small businesses £4,200 on average.</p> more like this

answer text <p>As announced on 29 July, the Energy Bills Support Scheme (EBSS) Alternative Funding will be available to provide equivalent support of £400 for energy bills for the households who will not be reached through the EBSS. This includes those who do not have a domestic electricity meter or a direct relationship with an energy supplier, such as park home residents.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is working quickly with a range of organisations, such as local authorities, as well as Devolved Administrations and across UK Government, to finalise the details of the Alternative Funding and have the process up and running for applications this winter.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Unlike other technologies (such as electric heating) 100% hydrogen for heating is not yet an established technology. Further work is required to understand the feasibility, costs and convenience of transporting 100% hydrogen in the gas grid and using hydrogen for heating and cooking. The knowledge and experience gained in delivering trials in communities, together with the results of wider R&amp;D and testing programme, will enable the Government to take strategic decisions in 2026 on the role of hydrogen in decarbonising heat.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The low carbon hydrogen economy in the UK is nascent, with electrolysis making up a very small share of current hydrogen production. The Government has set an ambition for there to be up to 10 GW of hydrogen production capacity in the UK by 2030, with at least half this being electrolytic hydrogen. The Government aims to run annual joint allocation rounds of the Net Zero Hydrogen Fund and Hydrogen Business Model to support its aim of having up to 1 GW of electrolytic hydrogen production operational or in construction by 2025.</p> more like this
