answer text <p>The Office for Product Safety and Standards is a Market Surveillance Authority, based within BEIS, that makes test purchases for goods as part of its enforcement activities. Within the legislation there are different obligations for the different organisations in the supply chain. Whilst these purchases are from retailers rather than manufacturers these retailers could potentially play a role in proceedings if an investigation arose. Making this commercially sensitive information public could compromise a future investigation.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The UK has a strong record on human rights and environmental awareness and protection, much of which results from our framework of legislation. The UK Government expects all British companies to adhere to the rule of law and build respect for human rights and the environment into all aspects of their operations both domestically and in other territories.</p><p> </p><p>The Companies Act 2006 includes the need for Public Interest Entities with 500 or more employees to describe its business relationships which are likely to cause adverse impacts, and how it manages risks arising from matters such as environmental considerations and human rights.</p><p> </p><p>Under international law, there is no requirement for States to regulate the extraterritorial activities of their businesses. It is up to individual States to protect against and prosecute human rights and other abuses that are committed within their borders.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Ministers and officials regularly met energy companies during the first and second covid-19 lockdowns to discuss a range of issues relating to the energy retail market. The Government’s Voluntary Agreement with energy suppliers prioritises customers at risk and supports those impacted by covid-19. Based on circumstances, this could include reassessing, reducing or pausing debt repayments for households in financial distress and support for prepayment meter customers to stay on supply. answer text <p>The Government is committed to helping low income and vulnerable households to sufficiently heat their homes, recognising the impact cold homes can have on people’s health.</p><p> </p><p>Energy efficiency is the best long-term solution to tackling fuel poverty. The Government is driving energy efficiency improvements through a number of schemes, including the Energy Company Obligation and the Home Upgrade Grant. Since the Energy Company Obligation Scheme began in 2013, Warwickshire has received 21,746 energy efficiency measures (Headline Energy Efficiency Statistics, Table 3.4).[1]</p><p> </p><p>Additional support is available to eligible households through the Warm Home Discount, the Cold Weather Payment and the Winter Fuel Payment. answer text <p>The cost of installing a domestic solar PV system varies with the type of solar panels, space for installation and roof design. In December 2021, the Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities published indicative data on costs for fitting solar panel systems on new homes. The fixed cost to install a solar PV system of under 4kW capacity system is £1,100, with a variable cost of £600 for each kW installed[1].
