The Government asked the Royal Society and Royal Academy of Engineering to conduct an independent review of the scientific and engineering evidence on the risks associated with hydraulic fracturing for shale gas, which concluded that “The health, safety and environmental risks associated with hydraulic fracturing as a means to extract shale gas can be managed effectively in the UK as long as operational best practices are implemented and enforced through regulation”. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/07/2017 answer text The Government set up a new Working Group on Product Recalls and Safety in October 2016 to build on the initial work of the Steering Group with a broader remit, a shorter timetable, a permanent Chair and a wider group of experts<p /><p /> <br /> The Working Group’s initial recommendations were delivered within three months and a number of these have already been taken forward, including the creation of a new central recalls website; the commissioning of the British Standards Institution to create a new code of practice on recalls; improved organisational mapping and support for better sharing of product safety data; and work to better understand consumer behaviour so that safety messages are more effective<p /><p><br> The Working Group submitted its final report in April 2017. We had intended to publish the report then. However, the announcement of the General Election prevented us from doing so. In light of the Grenfell Tower fire tragedy, Ministers have also asked the Working Group to review their findings to consider any further action that may be required. The report, Mineral Products Industry at a Glance 2016, indicates 28% of aggregates in 2015 came from recycled or secondary sources.</p><p>Mineral Planning Authorities in England are responsible for assessing recycled aggregates. It does not specifically require products to be labelled with information about fire retardant material used in the products.</p><p>The Government is currently reviewing the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988. One of the proposals under consideration is specific labelling to show the presence of fire retardant chemicals to help inform consumers and to aid consumer choice. A consultation on this issue was held in late 2016.
