<p>The Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR) is currently independently reviewing
the Office for National Statistics’ population projections and population estimates
following a request from the Warwickshire Campaign for the Protection of Rural England,
and we will reflect on any review findings. It is therefore not appropriate to comment
further on this issue, but population statistics, which inform the standard method
for assessing local housing need, remain the most up-to-date and robust national statistics
for this purpose.</p>
