answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/01/2019 answer text <p>Domestic abuse is an abhorrent crime that nobody should have to suffer. The Government is absolutely committed to protecting victims of domestic abuse and their families.</p><p>A victim of domestic abuse already has priority need under the homelessness legislation if they are vulnerable as a result of having to leave accommodation because of violence from another person, or threats of violence from another person that are likely to be carried out.</p><p>In addition, people who are homeless or owed a duty under the homelessness legislation must be given reasonable preference (priority) for social housing. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/01/2019 answer text <p><strong>(a) </strong>A competitive tendering exercise was held to appoint a contractor to help my Department administer Round 5 of the Coastal Communities Fund. This was managed by the Crown Commercial Service under their Grants and Programmes Framework Agreement. Groundwork UK were appointed to the Framework following a rigorous selection process and met all due diligence requirements. They were selected to administer the Round 5 grant application and assessment procedures following further competitive tendering under the Framework. They have demonstrated effectively that they can deliver the detailed administration requirements of the Fund in a fair and unbiased way, drawing on their extensive experience of administering other competitive grant programmes.</p><p><strong>(b) </strong>To date 16 Round 5 ‘fast track’ applications worth £6 million have submitted successful bids to the Fund. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/01/2019 answer text <p>The Government is providing funding so that local authorities and housing associations can focus their efforts on making their buildings safe without impacting negatively on other services, improvements to housing quality or new supply.</p><p>We have committed to funding fully the removal and replacement of dangerous Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) cladding on residential social housing buildings over 18 metres owned by councils and housing associations, with costs estimated at £400 million. We have so far allocated £248 million to replace cladding on 135 buildings.</p><p>Where, as part of the enforcement action, local authorities take emergency action themselves to remediate high rise private sector residential building with unsafe ACM cladding then the Housing Act 2004 allows local authorities to recover reasonably incurred expenses, with interest.</p><p>The Government is committed to supporting local authorities to ensure that such private-sector buildings are remediated, including financial support to take emergency remedial action if that is necessary. No one should ever have to sleep rough. That is why last summer we published the cross-government Rough Sleeping Strategy, which sets out an ambitious £100 million package to help people who sleep rough now, but also puts in place the structures that will end rough sleeping once and for all.
