The Government is taking action now to make sure high quality work placements are
available when the first T levels go live in September 2020. From April next year,
£74million in additional funding will be available to help providers to start building
effective relationships with employers to deliver placements from September 2018.
We will also be asking employers what additional support they will need to deliver
work placements through the public consultation on T levels being launched later this
year. Earlier this month we launched a work placement pilot scheme to test different
models and approaches to delivering T level placements. We have worked with over 150
employers and providers to design these pilots and we will be working with a range
of employers, providers and approximately 2500 students to deliver placements through
this pilot this academic year.
