answer text <p>The information requested could only be obtained at disproportionate cost. Whilst we track prisoners who self identify as care experienced, we are aware that there is significant under reporting. We are unable to separately identify those who come under the statutory definition of a care leaver.</p><p>The legal definition of a care leaver is someone who has spent time in the care of the Local Authority for 13 weeks or more which includes their 16<sup>th</sup> birthday.</p> more like this

The Department retains an effective working relationship with the Commission through regular meetings between officials and Ministers. New funding and operating arrangements were jointly agreed in 2020 to ensure the organisation continues to deliver law reform to a high quality that meets the needs of Government, the economy and society.</p> more like this
