The Law Commission’s current automated vehicle project will look at the safe deployment of automated vehicle mobility services in the UK.</p><p>Any decision will be informed by these reviews as well as real-world experiences such as the CAV Forth automated bus pilot service in Scotland. As set out in the Code of Practice, the trialling of any level of automated vehicle technology on the UK’s public roads is possible, if the trial is conducted in line with UK law. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/02/2019 answer text <p>Under European Union regulations slot allocation at co-ordinated airports in the UK is managed by a designated slot co-ordinator entirely independently of the UK Government, the Civil Aviation Authority and other interested parties. The Government therefore plays no part in, and is legally prevented from intervening in, the slot allocation process.</p><p> </p><p>However, the Government recognises that air connectivity between Scotland and London and the rest of the UK is of the utmost importance. The Government have set a clear expectation that about 15% of slots made available from expansion at Heathrow Airport will be used for domestic flights. As part of this we expect around 100 additional flights per week between Scotland and Heathrow once the new capacity is delivered. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/02/2019 answer text <p>Department for Transport published statistics show that the number of passengers using public transport is fairly stable at Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton over the last ten years.</p><p> </p><p>Government policy is that the provision and funding of surface access infrastructure and services to airports is primarily the responsibility of the airport operator unless there are significant non-airport user benefits, in which case the Government would consider making a funding contribution.</p><p> </p><p>As part of their Surface Access Strategies we expect airports to set targets for increasing the proportion of journeys made to the airport by public transport for both airport workers and passengers, and put in place a strategy to achieve those targets.</p><p> </p><p>In our Aviation Strategy consultation, we are proposing a number of measures that aim to better support airports in achieving their mode share ambitions, including uprating Airport Transport Forums so that local and central Government, airports, and transport providers have the opportunity to contribute appropriately to the delivery and monitoring of airports environmental targets.</p> answering member printed Baroness Sugg question first answered 06/02/2019 12:35:13 answering member 4584 label Biography information for Baroness Sugg
