Other than staff time, no expense was incurred in compiling it.</p><p> </p><p>The analysis was carried out following Departmental WebTAG and Treasury Green Book guidance. answer text <p>When considering all new transport infrastructure plans the Government assesses the impact on the environment to ensure the right balance is struck between the expected social and economic benefits and the impact on the natural environment.</p><p> </p><p>The National Policy Statement for National Networks sets out the Government’s policy on development of nationally significant infrastructure projects on the national road and rail networks in England. The NPS is the primary basis for making decisions on development consent applications and the guidance it provides recognizes that ancient woodland is a valuable resource both for its diversity of species and for its longevity as woodland.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Across the UK, almost all Motorway Service Areas already have at least one rapid chargepoint. Highways England has committed £15m to ensure there are chargepoints (rapid where possible) every 20 miles on 95% of the Strategic Road Network by 2020. The Autonomous and Electric Vehicles Bill currently going through Parliament contains new regulatory powers to require the installation of chargepoints at motorway service areas and large fuel retailers if there are insufficient levels of infrastructure at these locations to support growing numbers of electric vehicles. An updated strategy setting out Government’s role in this transition to electric motoring will be published in the coming months.</p> more like this

answer text <p>In September we published “The Renewable Transport Fuel Obligations Order, Government response to the consultation on amendments”. Appendices of Annex A of that Government response include details of the evidence and assumptions underpinning our analysis of the costs and benefits of the proposals. Table 30 in Appendix 3 includes estimates of waste-based biodiesel supply to 2020 and beyond.</p><p> </p><p>Biofuel statistics setting out the amount of biofuel by feedstock reported under the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) are published on the Department for Transport pages of the gov.uk website. These statistics indicate that the volume of waste-based biodiesel supplied was as follows (a) 742 million litres in 2014-15, (b) 749 million litres in 2013-14, and (c) 461 million litres in 2012-13.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>Coventry City Council is a member of the West Midlands Combined Authority. Between 2010/11 and 2017/18 the Department for Transport provided the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) with over £386 million to upgrade and improve local highways within the West Midlands area. It is for the WMCA to distribute this funding to its constituent members such as Coventry City Council.</p><p> </p><p>The Department for Transport has also directly allocated Coventry City Council over £10 million to upgrade and improve local highways within the City between 2010/11 and 2017/18, in addition to funding for roads which fall within the strategic road network and are managed by Highways England.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The Department for Transport spent almost £3.5m on supporting the not-for-profit community transport sector through the Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG) in the 2016 to 2017 financial year. BSOG is a grant paid to operators of eligible bus services and community transport organisations in England to help them recover some fuel costs. In addition, the Department has made funding available to help charities and community groups purchase new community minibuses, and in the most recent funding round in April 2017 we announced the allocation of £2m to 40 groups for a new community minibus each.</p> more like this
