answer text <p>The UK is committed to ensuring the safety of shipping in the region and safeguarding international trade routes. Amid ongoing Houthi attacks against commercial vessels transiting the Red Sed, the UK has joined Operation PROSPERITY GUARDIAN to help safeguard freedom of navigation.</p><p> </p><p>Whilst other government departments are leading the overall response to the Red Sea crisis, the Department for Business and Trade is focussed on the trade and business side. We continue to assess impacts of Houthi activity on international trade and are working across Government to analyse sectoral impacts and engage industry. Mitigating supply chain issues and promoting free and open international trade continue to be top priorities of HMG.</p><p> </p><p>HMG will shortly be publishing the UK Critical Imports and Supply Chains Strategy, which will reflect the government’s broader Supply Chain Resilience Framework.</p> more like this

answer text <p>There is a robust framework of consumer protection law that all traders, including locksmiths, must comply with which requires that services are delivered to a high standard and consumers have means of redress when they are not.</p><p>Consumers are encouraged to use service providers that operate under a regulated trusted trader scheme, such as the Master Locksmiths Association (MLA), which has a robust licensing scheme in place to ensure approved locksmiths are appropriately vetted, inspected and qualified.</p><p>We are further strengthening the enforcement of this framework in the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Bill. answer text <p>We have an ambitious programme of Free Trade Agreement negotiations - the largest such programme in the world - to help our nation become a truly Global Britain. We are currently in negotiations with eight partners, and have plans to start negotiations with Turkey and the Maldives.</p><p>The Department does not currently have plans to start a new trade agreement with East Timor. Under the Developing Countries Trading Scheme, East Timor benefits from duty free trade with the UK, in all areas apart from arms. It also benefits from some of the simplest and most generous rules of origin in the world.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Since launching trade negotiations with Switzerland in May 2023, the UK has held two rounds of negotiations on an Enhanced Free Trade Agreement. Discussions have been constructive and collaborative, and we have made good progress in starting to agree draft treaty text in several chapters.</p><p> </p><p>The third round of negotiations is currently underway and is expected to conclude in early December 2023.
