EU Exit affects a number of work areas across the Department and will therefore encompass a proportion of workload for staff, the amount of which will vary over time.</p><p> </p><p>Over £250m of additional funding has been approved across a number of Departments in 2017/18 to prepare for Brexit. The Northern Ireland Office has received additional funding this year, and has reprioritised to meet new pressures arising from Brexit preparations. Additional funding received from the reserve for 2017/18 will be set out at Supplementary Estimates. We are supported in that determination by the EU, the Irish Government and parties in Northern Ireland. This means no routine immigration controls on journeys from within parts of the CTA (Ireland and the Crown Dependencies (Isle of Man; Jersey; Guernsey)) to the UK.</p><p> </p><p>We have been equally clear that as we exit the EU we will not countenance a situation that places new barriers between constituent parts of the United Kingdom. There is therefore, no question of any new passport or other checks on people travelling between Great Britain and Northern Ireland. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/11/2017 answer text <p>Earlier this year, in recognition of the unique circumstances in Northern Ireland, the UK Government made clear that it was prepared to make available additional financial support following the confidence and supply agreement between the Conservative Party and the Democratic Unionist Party.</p><p> </p><p>That agreement made clear our desire to see the money decided upon and spent by a restored Executive for the benefit of all in Northern Ireland. In the meantime, though, we acknowledge that Northern Ireland’s unique circumstances cannot simply be ignored, especially given the pressures that we have seen in the continued absence of an Executive.</p><p> </p><p>That is why I announced during the Second Reading of the Northern Ireland Budget Bill on 13 November our commitment to make available £50m from the Confidence and Supply Agreement for addressing immediate health and education pressures in the 2017/18 financial year. This is a prime example of how the UK Government can support the devolved regions to boost the economy and drive growth. I am aware that work is ongoing to develop the Coleraine Zone which represents a significant economic opportunity for the area.</p><p>I am committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure growth and opportunity is shared.
