I’m pleased to see there has been a focus across the whole of the UK to support victims of domestic violence.</p><p> </p><p>Northern Ireland’s Department of Justice and Department of Health have taken a range of steps, including introducing the Domestic Abuse and Family Proceedings Bill. An action plan for the domestic and sexual abuse strategy has also been published and the domestic violence and abuse campaign ‘see the signs’ has been relaunched. <strong> </strong></p><p> </p><p>I was pleased to see that on 3 July, the NI Justice Minister and NI Health Minister published a plan for year five of the seven year domestic and sexual abuse strategy and a progress report for 2019/20, taking forward commitments that had been made by the Executive in 2016.</p><p> </p><p>Although this is a devolved area, the UK Government has made available £2 million to support domestic abuse charities to use technology to provide support in a more covert way to help victims trapped with their abuser.</p> answering member constituency Worcester answering member printed Mr Robin Walker question first answered 02/09/2020 13:09:00 answering member 4091 label Biography information for Mr Robin Walker

We committed to facilitating national recognition and international awareness of the anniversary, which marks not only the centenary of Northern Ireland, but also of the United Kingdom as we know it.</p><p>On his recent visit to Northern Ireland, the Prime Minister announced the establishment of a Centenary Forum, and a Centenary Historical Advisory Panel. This will offer us the opportunity to work with a broad spectrum of people to deliver an ambitious and exciting programme of events to mark the anniversary. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/08/2020 answer text <p>Her Majesty’s Government was placed under a clear legal duty to bring forward regulations on access to abortion services under section 9 of the Northern Ireland (Executive Formation etc.) Act 2019, given the Northern Ireland Executive was not restored by 21 October 2019.</p><p><br>The Government has delivered Regulations, which initially came into force on 31 March 2020, and these have now been approved by Parliament to remain in place as the law on access to abortion services in Northern Ireland.</p><p><br> The Regulations deliver equivalent outcomes in practice to the rest of the UK so that women and girls in Northern Ireland can enjoy similar rights in accessing abortion services.</p><p><br>The Government stands ready to provide whatever support and guidance we can to both the Northern Ireland Minister for Health and his department to assist them in progressing work to set up full abortion services as soon as possible, consistent with the Regulations.</p><p> </p> answering member printed Viscount Younger of Leckie question first answered 06/08/2020 11:21:03 answering member 4169 label Biography information for Viscount Younger of Leckie

This gives effect to certain aspects of EU law in Northern Ireland for as long as the Protocol alignment provisions remain in force, for the purposes of avoiding a hard border on the island of Ireland.</p><p> </p><p>The delivery and implementation of the Protocol’s provisions, including any further legislation that is required, is for the UK Government and, where appropriate, devolved Northern Ireland authorities.
