However, we have stated that we have considerable concerns about this case, which is not helpful in the goal of achieving a sustainable ceasefire. Israel has the right to defend itself against Hamas in line with International Humanitarian Law, as we have said from the outset. Although strictly a legal matter for the Moroccan courts, His Majesty's Ambassador to Morocco regularly raises the issue of compensation with senior Moroccan interlocutors. On 7 July he met the Wali of Tangier and the President of the Commercial Court of Tangier to specifically discuss APGBR. These meetings were constructive but not conclusive. It was agreed to establish a Transitional Committee (TC) under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to develop recommendations on the new arrangements and the UK is actively engaged with this process as a TC member. Since 2019, the UK has allocated more than £1 billion in East Africa towards humanitarian operations, helping to reach tens of millions of people with life-saving aid. We are working with partners to ensure a robust humanitarian and development response across the region.</p><p>The FCDO has considered the impact of reductions to ODA across the whole budget. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/03/2023 answer text <p>Local Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) play an important role in delivering UK funded humanitarian support in East Africa. We work and consult closely with local NGOs to aid their planning, delivery and ability to access funding.</p><p>In Ethiopia in 2022 the UK provided £7.6 million to the UN's Ethiopia Humanitarian Fund (EHF) which supported a range of international and Ethiopian NGOs. Similarly, the UK-funded 'Building Resilient Communities in Somalia programme has supported a number of Somali NGOs alongside international civil society organisations.
