This includes analysis of sectors across the whole of the UK.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is engaging extensively with the Welsh Government, along with Welsh organisations and institutions and in order to secure a deal that works in the interests of not just Wales, but the whole of the United Kingdom. We look forward to further engagement with all the Devolved Administrations, including on any additional analysis they have produced.</p><p> </p><p>As we move into the second phase of negotiations we are confident of agreeing a bold and ambitious Free Trade Agreement with the EU. Securing a future partnership between the UK and EU is in the interests of both sides, so we approach these negotiations anticipating success. We continue to engage with businesses and industry bodies from all sectors of the economy, including the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) , in order to inform our negotiations with the EU.</p><p>Furthermore, our future partnership paper Future customs arrangements published in August 2017 sets out our aspirations for the UK’s future customs arrangements. The paper set out key customs issues that form part of the UK Government’s approach to the new partnership with the EU. This reflects the deep engagement the Government has sought from external parties with expertise on each policy area, and draws on the very extensive work undertaken across Government since last year’s referendum.</p><p>As we have said before, we recognise that businesses and people will need time to adjust, and to allow new systems to be put in place. The Department has a dedicated mental health and wellbeing group who have been leading on a number of wellbeing activities across the Department to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of staff employed in the Department. This includes:</p><p><strong> </strong></p><ul><li><p>In February 2017, the Department signed up to the Time for Change pledge to demonstrate the Department’s commitment to reducing the stigma attached to mental health.</p></li><li><p>To date, 32 DExEU staff have been trained by Mental Health First Aid England as mental health champions.</p></li><li><p>Marking World Mental Health Day with a panel discussion sharing mental health and wellbeing experiences.</p></li></ul><p><strong> </strong></p><p>In the last year, the proportion of officials absent due to stress or mental health conditions was 1%, this is fewer than 10 individuals. This has included over 350 individual meetings, roundtables and other types of engagement with sectors across the economy and in every region of the UK. Engagement with business has included discussions on a wide range of issues.</p><p> </p><p>A cross-government Business Advisory Group, consisting of the five main business representative organisations, has also been established to ensure business is not only heard but is influential throughout the negotiations. The Prime Minister chairs a quarterly Business Advisory Council to hear directly from senior business leaders on the key issues across EU exit, and the wider economy. This engagement has helped to inform our positions on the implementation period and the deal we are seeking with the EU.
