answer text <p>The UK has wholly or partially sanctioned £20 billion of UK-Russia goods trade – 96% of 2021 values. Compared to before the invasion, UK goods imports from Russia have fallen by 99.1%, and goods exports to Russia have fallen by 80%. Additional sanctions on services trade will further erode Russia’s ability to keep pace with Western countries.</p><p> </p><p>Sanctions are starving Russia of advanced technologies and degrading their military capabilities, especially as many high-precision weapons rely on Western components.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The June 2022 WTO TRIPS Decision streamlines existing compulsory licensing processes for COVID-19 vaccines. It does not waive patents. The WTO General Council in December agreed to extend the deadline to determine whether to include therapeutics and diagnostics in this Decision, but no timeline was set.</p><p> </p><p>HM Government recognises that COVID-19 remains a serious challenge and that we need to promote equitable and effective distribution of COVID-19 products. answer text <p>I would like to clarify that there is no formal inquiry underway, contrary to press reports.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has reviewed the reports about UK components being recovered from Russian military equipment. It is likely that some Russian military equipment contains sub-components, some of which are dual-use and are not controlled, obtained from a range of countries, including the UK.</p><p> </p><p>The UK, in coordination with allies, has introduced several packages of hard-hitting sanctions that prohibit the supply of a wide range of goods and services, including components that could be utilised in Russian military equipment.
