answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/04/2019 answer text <p>Our objective has always been to have a functioning statute book in place by Exit Day and to ensure that the most critical secondary legislation was made by this point.</p><p> </p><p>Each SI was carefully considered on a case-by-case basis.</p><p> </p><p>The considerations and assessments made have meant that the Government has been able to lay the critical secondary legislation required before we exit the EU.</p><p> </p><p>The laying of EU Exit SIs allows Parliament to fulfil its essential scrutiny role. The exact nature of this scrutiny, and the steps required before an SI completes its passage, is dependent on the type of SI. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/04/2019 answer text <p>After EU Exit export licence applications will continue to be assessed in the same way as they are now, on a case-by-case basis against the eight criteria set out in the Consolidated EU and National Arms Export Licensing Criteria.</p><p> </p><p>Criterion 2 covers the respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms in the country of final destination as well as respect by that country for international humanitarian law. A licence would not be granted if to do so was inconsistent with the Criteria.</p><p> </p><p>The Criteria are statutory guidance issued under section 9 of the Export Control Act 2002 as most recently announced to Parliament in a Written Ministerial Statement on 25 March 2014.
