answer text <p>The Government is committed to minimising energy costs for businesses and consumers.</p><p> </p><p>The precise bill impact of Allocation Round 4 (AR4) will be dependent on future wholesale electricity prices, which remain uncertain. Although difficult to predict with certainty, the Government expects AR4 to have a relatively small impact on household bills. AR4 will deliver capacity which is a critical part of the Government’s strategy to reduce system costs and will increase energy independence by contributing towards the transition to a low carbon electricity system.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Net Zero Strategy included a mix of quantified and unquantified policies. Depending on which accounting methodology would be adopted as the international standard at COP26, shortly after the Strategy’s publication, the quantified policies were projected to deliver either ~95% or, as under the now agreed standard, over 100% of the emissions reductions needed for the sixth carbon budget. It is also inherently difficult to quantify the emission reductions that a particular policy will generate over time.</p> more like this

The Government works routinely with both international partners and industry representatives to ensure sanctions are robustly enforced. answer text <p>Enforcement of sanctions as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine falls outside the remit of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.</p><p> </p><p>HMRC is responsible for enforcement of UK Trade Sanctions and Strategic Export controls and works closely with Border Force to conduct customs checks and where necessary, seize goods at the port. Since my Rt. Hon. Friend the Prime Minister’s announcement in the House of Commons on 24 February 2022 of increased sanctions on Russia, HMRC has implemented a number of measures which aim to prevent the exportation and importation of restricted goods.</p><p> </p><p>HMRC has a range of enforcement options available such as awareness through outreach, warning letters, issuing compound penalties, seizures / disruptions and in the most serious of cases, referral to the Crown Prosecution Service for consideration for prosecution. HMRC works with other government departments and international partners to assist in identifying high-risk movements.</p>

Agency spend is shown as financial years in the ‘Wages and Salaries’ line under the ‘Others’ column, representing non-permanent core BEIS staff. Annual spend on Agency spend is not held centrally and can only be obtained disproportionally.</p><p> </p><p>Spend relating to financial year 2021-22 will be published later this year.
