The House of Commons has a good track record for supporting young people into employment,
and particularly those from disadvantaged and under-represented groups. We currently
achieve this through the paid internships we offer as part of the Speaker's Parliamentary
Placement Scheme and our Summer Diversity Internship Programme, as well as through
our apprenticeship programme. In line with this commitment the House authorities are
currently discussing the best way to engage with the Kickstart scheme, both as an
employer and in their role supporting Members and their offices.
