This commitment was reaffirmed in the open consultation ‘Advancing our health: prevention in the 2020s’, published by the Department and Cabinet Office on 22 July 2019.</p><p>Public Health England continues to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of sepsis by building sepsis messaging into the national Start4life Information Service for Parents email programme which targets parents of zero to five-year olds. Any nationally supported campaigns must be aimed at appropriate audiences and deliver measurable outcomes. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/07/2019 answer text <p>Health and Wellbeing Boards in England bring into one forum representatives from health, social services and the local community to decide what the main public health needs of the local population are, and to determine how best to meet them in an integrated and holistic manner. Health and Wellbeing Boards are required to produce Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) for their area. Based on the needs identified the Board produces a Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy (JHWS). Both the JSNA and JHWS must be taken into account by local authorities, clinical commissioning groups and NHS England when preparing or revising commissioning.</p><p>We believe that local leaders are best placed to make decisions as to the need of the population they serve, including for children and young people’s wellbeing. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/07/2019 answer text <p>The Medical Research Council (MRC) covers basic through to translational research, with translational research and applied, clinical, public health and social care research funded by the Department via the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).</p><p>The NIHR’s funding for research includes support for research infrastructure which is critically important in providing the resources, support and facilities that the National Health Service needs to conduct first-class research across the full pathway of discovery science to evaluation. The sustained, long-term funding to put in place through the NIHR infrastructure has been widely recognised as having transformed the health research environment in the United Kingdom. For example, there has been five-fold increase in early phase (phase I and phase II) trials since 2009 within the NIHR early translational research infrastructure in the NHS (2,842 phase I and phase II trials in 2017/18 compared to just 496 in 2009/10).</p><p>The MRC are also currently undertaking an evaluation of 10 years of MRC-funded translation research which is expected to be completed in September 2019.</p><p>The MRC and the NIHR also work in partnership through the Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation programme which funds studies evaluating interventions with potential to make a step-change in the promotion of health, treatment of disease and improvement of rehabilitation or long-term care.</p><p> </p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p> answering member constituency Gosport answering member printed Caroline Dinenage question first answered 26/07/2019 11:44:44 answering member 4008 label Biography information for Dame Caroline Dinenage
