answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/12/2014 answer text <p>It is only possible to provide these figures from the 2007-08 financial year.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>During the Spending Review 2010 period (ie 2011-12 to 2014-15), there have been two significant Machinery of Government changes to transfer functions and spending from the Department of Health to the Department for Communities and Local Government. The spending that related to these function added over £3 billion that would have previously been recorded in the Department of Health’s spending outturn. However, as health is a devolved matter Ministers do not routinely discuss health issues with their counterparts.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Government’s Mandate to NHS England sets out an ambition to make England one of the most successful countries in Europe at preventing premature deaths from all cancers, including prostate cancer. Cancer indicators in the NHS Outcomes Framework and the Public Health Outcomes Framework will help NHS England to assess progress in improving cancer survival and mortality for men with prostate cancer.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence published an updated clinical guideline on the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer in January 2014. To help reduce regional variations, the Care Quality Commission is increasingly incorporating information from accreditation and peer review programmes into its assessments of NHS trusts' services for the treatment of prostate cancer. This includes the national cancer peer review programme and the cancer patient experience survey, both of which encompass prostate cancer.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The National Prostate Cancer Audit (NCPA) First Year Annual Report was published on the 10 November 2014. The report covers the work undertaken since April 2013. It includes a preliminary analysis of the NPCA’s organisational audit, an analysis of existing data sets including patients with prostate cancer in England, and the design of the NPCA’s prospective audit dataset. The report is expected to be published in the journal <em>Health Technology Assessment</em> in January 2015.</p><p> </p><p><strong> </strong></p><p> </p><p>The NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) provides support to help the life sciences industry set up and deliver large multi-centre clinical trials in the National Health Service, across a wide range of disease and therapeutic areas. The CRN is currently hosting trials assessing the efficacy and safety of lebrikizumab and simtuzumab in patients with IPF. This work is being managed by the Department for International Development in conjunction with UK Med.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>UK Med run the <em>UK International Emergency Medical</em>, of UK surgeons, anaesthetists, emergency physicians/nurses and other supporting medical, nursing and paramedical staff.
