<p>We have committed to consult on our intention to introduce calorie labelling on
pre-packaged alcohol and alcohol sold in on-trade businesses such as pubs and restaurants
in due course. The consultation will set out further details about the proposed policy
and seek views on whether the provision of the United Kingdom Chief Medical Officers’
low risk drinking guidelines should become mandatory or continue on a voluntary basis.
The consultation has been delayed due to the pandemic and the focus to date on delivering
legislation on promotions, advertising and out of home calorie labelling</p>
