answer text
We have made excellent progress in some aspects of sexual and reproductive health, for example reducing new HIV infections and teenage pregnancy, but we are concerned about the worrying increases in some sexually transmitted infections. To address this, we announced on 24 October a new sexual health strategy to ensure that people know how to protect themselves, and can access the services they need for good sexual and reproductive health.

The Government provides funding to local authorities for public health services, including sexual health services, through the ringfenced public health grant. It is for local authorities to determine how the public health grant is allocated in their local areas to meet their needs. Sexual health service providers should ensure commissioned services are in line with current national guidance, standards of training and care and quality indicators.
more like this

answer text
NHS England is part way through the process of developing a clinical commissioning policy for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) for treating essential tremor. Stakeholder engagement will be taking place in the next few weeks. If there is a need for additional investment to support the introduction of this new service this will be considered in the next relative prioritisation round, alongside other interventions requiring new investment.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence published interventional procedure guidance on the use of MRgFUS as a treatment for essential tremor in June 2018. A copy of Unilateral MRI-guided focused ultrasound thalamotomy for treatment-resistant essential tremor is attached.
more like this

answer text
There have not been any recent meetings with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) about licensing the polypill in the absence of applications from pharmaceutical companies.

The MHRA is only able to grant a marketing authorisation once the legislative requirements for placing on the market of the product are fulfilled. Prior to approval, the marketing authorisation holder will need to generate and provide adequate evidence of quality, safety and efficacy for the product in a particular group of people (indication). In the absence of a marketing authorisation holder, an application seeking the licence, or data supporting the product, the MHRA is unable to authorise any product. Moreover, the MHRA is not able to compel any sponsor to make an application. The MHRA has over the years contributed to the European guideline, supporting the development of such combination products and has provided scientific advice to companies to facilitate development of polypill product.
