answer text <p>The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued advice that Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS) is not safe and should not be sold as a supplement. It has been working with local authorities across the country to share knowledge, investigate and disrupt the sale of MMS and other similar products.</p><p> </p><p>Further activity is being conducted with the support of the Medicine and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and with the involvement of the FSA’s National Food Crime Unit. This activity is ongoing and it would not be appropriate to comment in detail.</p><p> </p><p>However, the FSA has secured the removal of MMS products from some major marketplace websites, and it has shared information internationally through the National Crime Agency, alerting authorities in other countries to planned seminars at which the use of MMS is promoted.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Information on the numbers of people with sight impairment is collected by the Health and Social Care Information Centre every three years. Data is not collected at constituency level as part of the Registered Blind and Partially Sighted collection and so a response has been provided covering East Sussex, the council with adult social services responsibility which includes the Wealden constituency. According to the Registered Blind and Partially Sighted People report for England for the year ending 31 March 2014, there were 1,915 people registered as blind and 1,990 people registered as partially sighted within the East Sussex local authority area.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Child and adult overweight and obesity prevalence data are not published using parliamentary constituency boundaries, however the data is available for the corresponding local authority of Wealden.</p><p> </p><p>Local authority level data on overweight and obese children are collected through the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP). The NCMP measures the height and weight of primary school children in Reception (age four-five years) and Year six (age 10-11 years). answer text <p>The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guideline [CG133] regarding the longer-term management of self-harm in over eight’s sets out that care plans – including risk management and crisis plans – should be multidisciplinary and developed collaboratively with the person who self-harms and, provided the person agrees, with their family, carers or significant others. Care plans should also be shared with an individual’s general practitioner.</p><p> </p><p>It is for National Health Service organisations to design services to meet the needs of their local populations.</p><p> </p><p>NICE has produced a Clinical Knowledge Summary on the management of poisoning or overdose which is available at:</p><p> </p><p><a href="http://cks.nice.org.uk/poisoning-or-overdose#!scenario" target="_blank">http://cks.nice.org.uk/poisoning-or-overdose#!scenario</a></p><p> </p><p>This states that the person, if self-harm is found to be a factor, should have a psychiatric assessment by a trained professional.</p><p> </p><p>The Government’s Suicide Prevention Strategy also has details of what should be done if an overdose is suspected to be intentional. The Strategy acknowledges that emergency departments and primary care have important roles in the care of people who self-harm, with a focus on good communication and follow-up.</p><p> </p><p>In January, the Prime Minister announced £247 million to be used to develop further the provision of liaison psychiatry services in Emergency Departments in England. These services will ensure that people attending Emergency Departments who have mental ill health are assessed quickly and receive the most appropriate treatment.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
