answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/01/2015 answer text <p>The UK lobbies countries that are not signatories of the 1980 Hague Convention to sign it. Cases involving non-Hague convention signatories are much harder to resolve and parents often face lengthy and expensive court proceedings abroad to try to facilitate their return.</p><p>Whilst the FCO cannot interfere in another country’s judicial process, where due process is not being followed, or cases take a disproportionately long time to resolve, we raise this with our appropriate counterparts.</p><p>There are a number of steps that parents can take if their child is taken overseas without their consent. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/12/2014 answer text <p>We are aware of reports suggesting the presence of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)-affiliated groups in Yemen. We do not believe that this is indicative of an organised, structured or cohesive ISIL presence in Yemen. Also, it does not indicate operational linkages between al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) and ISIL. AQAP has been a vocal critic of ISIL’s rise. It recently issued a public statement condemning ISIL’s ‘Caliphate’ in Syria and Iraq, as well as criticising its use of brutal tactics. The civil war in Syria has attracted some Yemeni foreign fighters who may subsequently return to the region. Staff employed locally at our missions overseas are done so in full compliance with local employment law. We are aware that there are currently 96 contracted staff who are working for the FCO Facilities Management (FM) provider whose hourly rate is less than the levels recommended by the Living Wage campaign. We do not hold any information on the proportion of staff this represents for our FM provider nor do we hold any information on the ethnic or gender background of those contracted staff.
