answer text <p>A strong financial services sector in Wales and the rest of the UK is important to achieve strong and sustainable economic growth and ensure consumers and businesses can access the financial services they need.</p><p> </p><p>In order to sustain and promote the sector in Wales, HM Treasury announced the appointment of Richard Theo, CEO and Co-Founder of Wealthify, as fintech envoy for Wales in May 2018. The government is committed to ensuring that the whole country, including Wales, benefits from fintech, and supporting regional fintech hubs to thrive. The Fintech Envoy for Wales plays an important role in supporting the Welsh fintech sector and provides a valuable source of information and intelligence to support policy-making to achieve this objective.</p><p> </p><p>Wales exported an estimated £2.9m in financial and related professional services in 2017. The government is committed to maintaining the global appeal of the UK’s financial services sector to continue to support exports and the whole economy.</p>

answer text <p>The Government is committed to introducing a new Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) surcharge on non-UK residents purchasing residential property in England and Northern Ireland. The surcharge will help control house price growth and therefore help those residents in the UK to get on to the housing ladder. The revenue raised by the surcharge will be used to tackle rough sleeping.</p><p> </p><p>The Government will announce further updates on all tax measures at the Budget, which the Chancellor has announced will be held on 11 March.</p> more like this

This is part of the £1.4bn the UK Government has announced for the funding of ten City and Growth Deals in Scotland. More recently, the Government has committed to provide 100% coverage of City and Growth Deals for Scotland.</p><p> </p><p>The Scottish Government is accountable for City and Growth Deals funding in the usual way and in line with the fiscal framework. Audits will be undertaken by Audit Scotland and the National Audit Office in the usual way. Detailed accountability and working arrangements are currently being agreed between the UK Government and Scotland Government via a Memorandum of Understanding which will be published in due course.</p> more like this
