The 31 January deadline for online filing of tax returns is well known among Self Assessment (SA) filers, more than two-thirds of whom are represented by agents. For the past three years, more than 90% of customers filed on time. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) uses a mixture of direct reminders and a multimedia proactive publicity campaign to raise awareness and encourage people to pay and file on time.
