Insurance firms are required to treat customers fairly under the rules of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).</p><p> </p><p>New FCA rules on consumer insurance policy renewals, introduced in April 2017, will encourage consumers to shop around instead of renewing their policy automatically.
