answer text <p>The Department for Transport is responsible for the sector where most National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers are employed. The rail disputes are between individual employers and the trade unions, and it would not be prudent for Government to intervene in this relationship. Ministers encourage the unions to keep negotiating with Network Rail and the train operating companies, as the employers, to resolve this dispute. Ministers remain close to discussions that are taking place.</p> more like this
