This states that, wherever possible, we will seek to fulfil the UK's defence and security requirements through open competition in the domestic and global market.</p><p>At times, however, the competitive procurement route is not always suitable. Recruitment into the Reserve Forces is a key consideration when determining the location of Reserve units. We continue to make good progress with Reserves recruitment. The foreign currency arrangements in place will limit any impact from the current foreign exchange position for several years.
