answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/02/2020 answer text <p>Following the most recent valuation of the police pension schemes, the additional cost to policing in 2020-21 of employer contributions to police pensions is currently estimated to be £316 million.</p><p>The 2020-21 police funding settlement will increase funding available to the policing system by £1.1 billion next year. This includes general Government grant funding, pensions grant, council tax precept and investment in national priorities, and is the biggest funding increase in a decade. Tough enforcement is a fundamental part of our approach to tackling drugs and we are working across Government to address the drivers behind drug-related crime and help prevent further substance misuse and offending.</p><p>We continue to surge law enforcement action to tackle county lines and its associated violence and exploitation. The Home Secretary has announced £25m of targeted investment across 19-20 and 20-21 to significantly increase law enforcement’s response to the issue.
