<p>It is the responsibility of the state of the person’s country of origin to offer
effective protection. Where applicable, the Home Office’s country policy and information
notes include references to non-governmental organisation support that may be available
to LGBT persons in countries of origin. This uses evidence taken from a range of sources
such as local, national and international organisations, including human rights organisations,
information from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and trusted media outlets.</p>
