answer text <p>The Policing and Crime Act 2017 introduced provisions enabling the bringing of disciplinary proceedings against former police officers, notwithstanding their departure from the force</p><p>Any former officer who receives a disciplinary sanction that they would have been dismissed, had they still been serving, is placed on the police Barred List preventing them from re-joining policing in the future.</p> more like this
