<p>As part of the work on the National Model Design Code (NMDC) the Department is working closely with the Department for Transport to take forward the Government’s ambitions for sustainable transport, taking into account the need for shared mobility solutions and public transport. This includes close joint working on the NMDC and the update to the Manual for Streets. The Department is also producing Planning Practice Guidance on Sustainable Transport and Accessibility which will set out how sustainable transport should be considered as part of the evidence base for local plans. This guidance will be published in due course.</p><p> </p>
